Course Description: This course is designed for students with little to no prior knowledge of interior design who want to pursue a career in the field. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of interior design principles, project management, and business practices, preparing students to work as freelance interior designers or start their own interior design business.
Throughout the course, students will learn the design process, including conducting site analysis, taking accurate measurements, creating floor plans and elevations, and developing design concepts and mood boards. They will also learn about different design styles and how to select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and accessories for each style. Additionally, students will learn how to use different software programs that are commonly used in the industry.

Course Goals:

  1. Understand the principles and elements of interior design and apply them to their designs
  2. Conduct site analysis and take accurate measurements for their design projects
  3. Develop design concepts and mood boards based on their clients’ needs
  4. Create floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using design software
  5. Select appropriate materials, finishes, furniture, and accessories for different design styles
  6. Understand and use different software programs commonly used in the industry
  7. Communicate their design ideas effectively to clients and other professionals in the field
  8. Understand the legal and ethical issues involved in interior design and project management
  9. Develop a portfolio of design work that demonstrates their skills and expertise

Prerequisites:

  1. Understand English.
  2. Basic computer knowledge.
  3. Computer with min. 8gb RAM.
  4. Min. Diploma in Civil/Interior Design.
